Shortly after airkrete® GREENsulation™ installer Joey Jacinto completed the 1.3 million dollar contract with the City Housing Authority of NYC, he received a call to stop in for an inspection at the apartment building. His first thought was that there was some kind of a problem. When he arrived the authorities were all smiling at him. To everyone's amazement it seems that shortly after the airkrete® GREENsulation™ was installed a fire broke out due to faulty wiring. The fire at Betances House Complex on East 146th St. NY City was contained because the airkrete® GREENsulation™'s fireproofing qualities blocked the fire. ASTM E814/UL 1479. Joey received a big pat on the back and validation on a job well done.
Since 911, many existing buildings in NY City have been condemned and their CO's (Certificate of Occupancy) stricken from the owners. To insure or reestablish a CO, apartments and building structures need to pass code and install proper fire walls. The pre 70's brick building with wood joist construction, averaging six stories of 392 apartments was a great opportunity to install airkrete® GREENsulation™ in the interior walls and partion fire walls between apartments and pipe chases. airkrete® GREENsulation™ is the only insulation on the market today that will retrofit any building without disruption to a tenant's daily life and major construction costs to the owners. Joey Jacinto has 30 years in the insulation business. In the early 90's, The National Audubon Society purchased the Old Schermerhorn building in NY City and recognized airkrete® GREENsulation™ insulation as one of the best ways to seal the envelope in their new headquarters. It was at this point Mr. Jacinto made a change. "I was happy to give up other insulations for the airkrete® GREENsulation™'s nontoxic world and for my own health."
